"WOW! It was truly magical! The team are being givena great deal of credit for giving our school community the opportunity to showour town how we as a school, support each other, communicate with each otherand care about each other. What else could a school administrator want? Ourstaff and students are still talking about the spirited show that we performedat the end of the week. People commented after the performance that we appearedto be having a wonderful family celebration. That is so inspiring consideringthe participation of 315 students from Kindergarten to Graded 12, 20 staffmembers and 40 volunteers were involved in making the performance come alive. We look forward to having this opportunity again."
- Betty Turpin, Principal, St. Thomas More School Fairview, 2003/04

“This is the second time we have had Trickster at ourschool. Once again the experience was a tremendous success. As wonderful asTrickster was in 1998, they were even more impressive in 2002. The biggestimprovement was in the planning prior to coming to this northern community.Binders for the school coordinator and the parent coordinator thoroughlyoutlined the responsibilities and expectations attached to those positions. Each teacher was provided with a folio that outlined every step of the production,a daily plan, a timetable and the physical vocabulary to ready the students andteachers for an efficient transitioninto the production. The team planning with the thought circles gave the staffthe opportunity to link their sub-themes to our overall theme “Under the Sea”.The video clearly demonstrated how physical vocabulary can involve the studentsin acting through a subject concept in a very concrete manner. This is anexcellent learning method for students and incorporates all learning styles. Teachersnow use this method to teach a variety of concepts.”
- Annette Valstar, Residency Organizer, Florence McDougall School, High Level, 2001/02
